Megan Peterson

Megan Peterson brings over 20 years of healthcare experience and a lifelong passion for horses to the Horizon Equine team. Growing up in the Lower Mainland, she became involved with horses at the age of 12 through the 4-H program, where she developed a strong foundation in horsemanship, animal care, and responsibility.

As a horse owner and competitor, Megan understands the commitment required to care for equine partners and athletes. Her experience competing in Cutting and Versatility Ranch Riding with her horses, Yellow and Ace, has provided firsthand insight into the importance of preventative care, rehabilitation, and maintaining peak equine health.

Megan’s professional background includes more than 15 years with Canadian Blood Services, where she worked in a variety of roles ranging from administrative support to patient care. She later served as a Collection Specialist with the National Cord Blood Bank at BC Women’s & Children’s Hospital. She also worked with Interior Health, strengthening her healthcare expertise and client-focused approach.

Having been a veterinary client herself, Megan understands the importance of clear communication, compassion, and trust. Her combination of healthcare experience and practical equine knowledge allows her to support both Horizon Equine’s veterinarians and the horse owners they serve.
